Ways these Broncos together with their 'play-dough' QB can stop the Kansas City Chiefs' dominance.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features live text for Sunday's games via multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available on designated networks covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the NFL season and following recent talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Notable during those contests were the amount of infractions each committed. The Eagles did so at crucial times meaning they kind of defeated themselves having led 17-3 entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this weekend.

But it was good to see that Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to have the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game 21-17.

Denver have the defensive player of the year with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank first in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, yet the Broncos prevailed in that battle.

They executed effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not always rushing extra pass rushers but they could plug two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

At the start of the season, it was noted on a program that Denver might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They finished last season strongly then excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

New TE their tight end has stepped up significantly and recent running back their rusher is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love how head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver are a squad that wants to prioritize the run, since one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

It's also benefited QB Bo Nix, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He has incredible passing ability, a unique trait, plus he is so athletic.

His strengths include his movement, being able to pass while moving, and using different arm angles to make throws as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to throw that layered pass across the middle or past defenders.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays great composure under pressure and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He aims to avoid a sack as much as possible and is able pass under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.

If you constantly rush it eats up the clock and forces the defence to stay on the field extended periods, and if you have a mobile QB the defense must cover the field downfield and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and I think the coach likes that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's fun for the coach to have a rookie QB who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly build something up the way he wants to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach owns a championship and now passed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the success Denver are experiencing on offence is mostly due to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with Nix aids shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they strong enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're working better than most, that's a good place to hold the AFC West. All they need to do is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their forte, that is running the ball, and that's precisely what they must do against the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad yet to win any game.

Since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway in five outings, which is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver face a manageable slate until their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the West.

It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they meet because Denver {beat|def
